(Kadda, 2012, pg 635)The article gives new insights into the mental extendes under which cardiac clients labor and health professionals could use these insights into the management of cardiac patients. Many health professionals are unaware of the psychological stress under which a patient labors, because they consider it a normal reaction to the stress of acute myocardial infarction. The fear in the patients mind and that of close family members is not taken into account hence the problem persists despite medication. The dispelling of this fear and the reassurance that the patient can look forward to vent back to a normal life if certain precautions are taken and certain lifestyle changes are brought about, can go a long way in a faster recovery and stripe of recurrence.The article emphasizes the importance of educating patients and their families. Although this is essential, it has not received due recognition among the medical fraternity.
